To clarify the note on the right hand top part of this page: if you want to be in touch with us quickly-ish, you can text Heather on her usual mobile phone-number for about 40p (Mark got his SIM nicked in Bangkok, unfortunately). I don't have it on all the time, and I might not always reply (lots of 40p's can add up!) - but they should mostly get through to us.

Hi to you all. There was a piece in the paper this weekend that I thought you would be interested in. It was about the death of a 98 year old woman, Yang Huanyi, who was China's last woman proficient in a language called Nushu that was possibly the world's only female-specific language - 400 years old and used for women to share their innermost feelings. It said she learned it as a girl from 'seven sworn sisters' and that Nushu has 4 kinds of strokes, including dots, horizontals, verticals and arcs. It sounds fascinating.

Great to hear more news of your adventure. I am now extemely hungry after reading about all that delicious food! Have had a particuarly long and stressful day at the office (getting a high court injunction to stop contractors from working dangerously close to a railway line!!) so it is very nice to be at home with a glass of wine reading about your foreign adventures - good escapism for me! I do like the sound of the pampering in the hotel (though not so sure about green hair Heather!)
Keep having fun so I can do it vicariously with you!
