Hola from Mexico

We got up at 4am in order to catch our plane to Mexico and arrived at 4pm. Mark suffered a lot from the cat allergy that had been kept at bay by anti-histamines and could hardly see and breath on the flight.

Driving from the airport to our youth hostel was fantastic and I felt the excitement rising - almost as exciting as India! The streets are busy and colourful and the atmosphere great. We checked into the youth hostel, went to our shoe box room and collapsed for a couple of hours. Finally we managed to haul ourselves out for something to eat and a quick stroll around the block before collapsing back into bed. Unfortunately just as we were ready to sleep other people were ready to party and we were kept awake for hours! The music finally stopped at 3am.

So today the excitement of being here is firmly dampened by utter exhaustion and the kids missed the delicious breakfast of cornflakes and cold toast and we are now all vegging out with an hour on the internet before we venture out to the land outside.

Soon we are off to find a different place to stay and some real Mexican nosh! It´s great being back in the sun and out of the "1st" world again. Oh yes, and there are aztec ruins at the end of our block and Diego Rivera murals over the road!
