Sydney's Olympic Stadium

Hiya, Melissa here.

When we were in Sydney we decided to go to the olympic stadium for a tour. We toured the Telstra stadium in which the opening and closing ceremony was held, and all the athletics finals were held too.

We got to look at where the commentaters sat, we also looked at the premier seating for the very rich people, and we also got to look at the athletes' training room, which is where they would be in before their actual race.

  • Did you know that the running track is actually not in the stadium anymore? - on the second day after the olympics they took it out and removed it! Now they use it for all the big football games
  • Did you know that in the same stadium the elevators move faster than other elevators because they're designed for big crowds so that they are moving faster?

  • Did you know that two of the sides of the stadium actually slide in, so that you can play football, rugby and australian football?
  • Did you know that there were actually three babies born during the olympic games? Luckily it was none of the competitor's babies!

We could not look around the whole of the olympic stadiums because it would take too long - but we did look around the swimming pool.

I hope that we will be able to go and see an olympic games because it would be a lot more fun then, so i hope i will be able to go to China in 2008.

p.s everyone that reads this, please comment! ok thanks
